Recommendations for the latest games in June 2024

Hi everyone! It's time for our monthly game report to help you plan your gaming schedule for the next month. As expected, June 2024 is packed with exciting releases, starting with the much-anticipated Elden Ring DLC in late June. Besides that, there are several other great games worth noting to keep you entertained in the first half of June. Using our portable gaming monitor as a second screen for PS5, Switch, and XBOX will bring an unparalleled gaming experience. So let's take a look at the new releases and plan our gaming calendar for June!

Elden Ring-Shadow of the Erdtree

This one needs no introduction. It's a must-play for all Tarnished in June. Elden Ring, which won the GOTY in 2022, is a masterpiece in the Souls series. The story is intriguing, and this DLC is set in the Land of Shadows, originally part of the Lands Between and the birthplace of Queen Marika. The main storyline will delve into the history of the Land of Shadows and Marika's past, as well as the story of her son, Miquella. According to previous interviews, you need to defeat Mohg and Radahn to access the DLC. The trailer hints that the cocoon containing Miquella is the entrance to the Land of Shadows. Another new character revealed in the DLC is the Perforator, Misamo, likely to be a main antagonist. Remember to defeat Mohg and Radahn before June 21 to access the DLC!

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

This is an enhanced version of Shin Megami Tensei V from 2021, set for release on June 14. This version includes a new story arc called "Vengeance," with 40 new demons, dungeons, and quests. The turn-based JRPG gameplay has also been updated with features like auto-battle and quick save. However, this "complete edition" has sparked some controversy, as it combines the base game and DLC into one package, which some players find unfair.

Monkey Fight (Banana Mania): Super Monkey Ball

The latest installment in the Super Monkey Ball series introduces online multiplayer for the first time. Players can customize their monkeys with various accessories and compete in different modes, such as racing and banana collecting. The game also features a four-player split-screen adventure mode with 200 levels, making it a fun game to play with friends and family in June.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories

In this game, players help Anya complete a drawing diary for Eden Academy by collecting materials from everyday life. The game includes mini-games, interactions with characters from the series, and family outings, with a focus on dressing up Anya. Fans of SPY×FAMILY will not want to miss this one.

Drug Dealer Simulator 2

A sequel to the 2020 simulator, set in the early 2000s on Black Shadow Island. Players start as street hustlers and build their drug empires while avoiding law enforcement and rival gangs. A demo is available on Steam for those interested in trying it out.

Monster Hunter Stories

Finally available in multiple languages, this game from the Monster Hunter series focuses on riders who bond with monsters. It's a turn-based RPG where you can raise and train monsters. Though it didn't sell well initially, the unique concept makes it a worthwhile addition to any collection. Monster Hunter Stories 2 is also coming to PS4 on June 14.

Autopsy Simulator

This horror simulation game has players take on the role of a pathologist named Jack. During an autopsy, Jack discovers his wife's engagement ring inside a corpse, leading him to investigate further. The game promises a realistic experience with detailed autopsies and case investigations.

Tsukihime

An 18+ visual novel set in the same universe as Fate/Stay Night, originally released in 2000 and remade in 2021. The upcoming release includes translations in multiple languages. Be aware that some content has been altered to pass Sony's censorship, but the core experience remains intact.

Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Vacation

This open-world adventure game lets players explore a rural town during a summer vacation, engaging in activities like fishing, bug catching, and interacting with townsfolk. It's a nostalgic and relaxing experience suitable for all ages.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

An HD remaster of the 2013 3DS game, where Luigi investigates haunted mansions with his ghost-sucking vacuum. The game includes a new multiplayer mode for up to four players.

Life by You

An open-world life simulation game from the creators of The Sims. Players can create characters, build homes, and live out their virtual lives with high freedom and customization.

Soulmask

A sandbox survival game set in an ancient tribal land. Players escape a sacrificial ritual and use a powerful mask to control enemies, build a base, and recruit tribe members. A demo is available on Steam.

7 Days to Die

After a decade in early access, this zombie survival game is finally releasing its 1.0 version. Players must gather resources and build defenses to survive the "Blood Moon" every seven days. Despite optimization issues, the game has a loyal following and extensive update plans.

Descent the Abyss

A first-person narrative horror game set on an offshore oil rig in 1975. Players must survive and find their colleagues in a dangerous environment with no communication or weapons.

That's all for this month's game report! Which of these games are you looking forward to, or is there another game you're excited about that I didn't mention?
